What to know
- Plan budgets, call handling and messaging for the October to April severe weather season.
- Report urgent storm-related enquiries separately from planned work.
- Treat Brisbane as a suburban, car-based market where detached houses are the norm.
- Account for population growth when comparing results year on year.
- Get a written test plan naming suburbs, services and outcomes.

Define the local problem before requesting proposals.
Brisbane's December 2025 profile identifies health care, professional services and education as major employment sectors using 2021 Census data. It names distinct employment concentrations, including Kelvin Grove-Herston for health and Brisbane City and Fortitude Valley for professional services.
Ask the provider to distinguish sourced local context from its own campaign hypothesis. The decision should be tested through relevant enquiries and the business’s ability to serve them.
Local reference: Brisbane City Council economic profile. The profile reflects the Brisbane LGA and the census year it draws on. The acquisition guidance built on it is our analysis.
Keep the service and the employment area in proportion.
Imagine a healthcare practice considering demand around its Brisbane location. The existence of a health-related employment concentration can inform research, but it does not establish patient demand for that practice’s treatment. The brief still needs the actual service, appointment capacity and enquiry route. A professional firm may reasonably test a different audience in the same city.
Keep healthcare and professional-service acquisition separate. Select a realistic patient catchment for a dental practice, while a specialist professional firm may serve a wider area. Compare enquiry quality by location and service rather than assuming every Brisbane click has equal value.
Two provider examples to compare.
These examples illustrate the different scopes you may encounter. We reviewed the providers’ own service descriptions on 8 October 2026. The questions in the final column are ours. Inclusion is not a ranking, endorsement or verification of client results.
| Provider | What its website describes | Question for your proposal |
|---|---|---|
| Alight Digital | Describes Brisbane paid advertising, SEO, websites, design and AI consulting, including analytics consulting. | Ask whether the first constraint is the page, the campaign or measurement, and which evidence supports that diagnosis. |
| HYM Digital | Describes Brisbane website design, SEO, Google Ads, content, CRM, automation and analytics services. | Ask which existing systems can be retained and how the website-to-CRM handoff will be tested. |
A Brisbane organisation should identify whether it needs a stronger website, acquisition execution or a better connection with existing customer systems. Ask both providers to show the handoff using your actual process before choosing a broader programme.
Storm season shifts demand for months at a time.
The Bureau of Meteorology states that Queensland's severe weather season runs from October to April, bringing a heightened risk of storms, cyclones and floods. Its 14 October 2026 release marked the start of this season's preparedness campaign. Severe storms do not arrive on a schedule, which makes demand in these months harder to forecast than in the cooler half of the year.
For roofers, electricians, plumbers, glaziers, tree services and restoration businesses, these months can bring sudden spikes in urgent enquiries after a single storm, followed by quieter periods. A campaign set to spend evenly every day may run out of budget at the wrong time or keep advertising when the team is already fully booked. Clinics and appointment businesses may instead see weather-related cancellations and reschedules.
Ask each provider how quickly it can raise, cap or pause spend, and who decides. Ask how storm-related enquiries will be labelled so they do not distort the baseline you use to judge the campaign later. Messaging should describe what the business can actually do and how quickly, without overstating urgency.
Detached houses and driving define most Brisbane catchments.
At the 2021 Census, separate houses made up 73.4 per cent of occupied private dwellings in Greater Brisbane, with flats and apartments at 14.7 per cent. Among employed residents, 55.1 per cent travelled to work as a car driver, while bus (2.5 per cent) and train (2.0 per cent) were far smaller.
That profile favours home services built around houses: roofs, yards, gutters, solar, pools and renovations. It also means most customers drive to clinics and shops, so travel time by road, river crossings and parking shape a realistic catchment more than straight-line distance. A business south of the river may find that suburbs across it are close on a map but slow to reach at peak times.
Ask each provider to define the service area as suburbs your team can reach in a reasonable time, and to show enquiries and completed jobs by suburb in its reports. For clinics, ask how parking, access and directions will be covered on the location page. A catchment that works on a Sunday may be unrealistic on a weekday afternoon.
Population growth affects how results should be read.
The ABS reports that Brisbane's population grew by 58,223 people in 2024-25, a rate of 2.1 per cent, above the 1.8 per cent for all capital cities combined.
Growth at that pace changes the background against which marketing is judged. More households can mean more searches and more enquiries even when a campaign has not improved, and new competitors may open in growing suburbs over the same period. In our view, a comparison of this year's enquiry count with last year's says little on its own.
Ask each provider to report rates as well as totals: cost per suitable enquiry, the share of enquiries that become booked work and results by suburb. Ask how it would treat a new estate or growth suburb in your area, and how long a test there would run before a decision. These measures make it easier to tell whether the campaign or the market is doing the work. They also make one provider's report easier to compare with another's.
Taking Brisbane questions into the full checklist.
General proposal, measurement and exit questions are collected in our guide to choosing a marketing agency after a bad experience. This Brisbane page adds local questions and is not an independent ranking or endorsement. Pulse Labs provides the service under discussion and has a commercial interest in it, so expect Pulse to answer these questions in the same detail as other providers.
Your questions, answered
Who is the best marketing provider in Brisbane?
That depends on your service, your suburbs and whether your demand is seasonal or steady. A provider that runs good campaigns for retailers may not handle storm-driven trade demand well. Compare relevant evidence, account ownership and measurement. This page does not rank providers.
How can we test whether a provider understands this market?
Ask the provider how it would run your campaign through the October to April severe weather season and which suburbs it would include first. A good answer covers budget controls, call capacity and travel time rather than a single Brisbane-wide target.
How should Brisbane trades plan for storm season?
Agree in advance how spend will be raised, capped or paused when demand spikes, and how urgent jobs will be handled. The Bureau of Meteorology describes October to April as Queensland's severe weather season. Label storm-related enquiries separately so they do not distort later comparisons.
Should we compare this year's enquiries with last year's?
With care. Brisbane grew by 2.1 per cent in 2024-25, so some change in enquiry numbers may reflect population growth rather than the campaign. Track cost per suitable enquiry and conversion to booked work alongside totals.
Does Brisbane's housing mix matter for our marketing?
It can. Separate houses made up 73.4 per cent of occupied dwellings in Greater Brisbane in 2021, which suits home services aimed at owner-occupiers. Apartment-focused services may need a narrower suburb list.
