Our editorial approach

Useful enough
to act on.

Our guides are written for business owners making decisions about customer acquisition: search, advertising, websites and choosing a provider. This page explains how we choose topics, which sources we rely on, where our commercial interest lies and how to report an error.

How we choose topics

We use Ahrefs keyword research to understand what business owners search for in each industry and market. Every guide in our collection is tied to a primary keyword with recorded Ahrefs search data, and that evidence is kept with our research files. Search estimates help us select and prioritize topics. They are not forecasts of customers, inquiries or revenue, and we do not present them that way.

Sources and dates

We check platform features, geographic facts and industry requirements against primary sources where they exist, such as official platform documentation, regulators, government statistics and professional bodies. Each guide ends with a list of its sources and the date they were checked. Laws, platform rules and prices can change after that date, so a source list records what we reviewed rather than guaranteeing that it is still current. When a guide uses a local reference, such as a regional body’s description of its area, we use it only for what it states. The marketing recommendations around it are our own analysis.

Examples and provider comparisons

Illustrative examples show how a method works. They are labelled as illustrative and are not presented as client results.

Our provider-comparison guides include examples taken from the public websites of the providers named. These are limited reviews of publicly described services. They are not rankings, endorsements or verified assessments of performance, and we have not tested those providers’ work. Where a guide describes another firm’s website, it describes the content and navigation we observed, not how well that website converts.

Our commercial interest

Pulse Labs sells customer acquisition software and services, and our guides include invitations to contact us. Explanations of the Pulse approach reflect that commercial perspective. We do not present our own service as an independent provider ranking.

Promotional statements about Pulse, such as descriptions of our technology or how we position our business in the market, are our own claims. They are not independently verified rankings or awards. We keep them separate from the factual guidance in each article, which relies on the sources listed.

Archive dates

The dates shown in the article collection organize the archive across three years. They are not original publication dates. Source review dates appear within each guide.

Authorship and review

Guides carry the byline Pulse Labs editorial. We do not use invented author names or claim professional credentials. We use research and AI-assisted drafting in our editorial workflow. A company byline does not imply review by a lawyer, clinician, accountant or other licensed professional. Our guides are general marketing information, not legal, medical, financial or regulatory advice for a specific business.

Corrections

If you notice an error, a broken source or guidance that has gone out of date, please contact us with the article’s address and the passage in question. If you can, include the source that shows the correct information, so we can check it against the guide.
